3. Use Science as a tool to educate!
We have printed all of the studies from this link and divided then into two large binders which speak volumes when we bring them to meet with representatives. You can do the same, or you can just print the table of contents showing the 12 categories the studies have been divided into and the links to each study which is only about 15 pages. Be sure to memorize this: “There are thousands of independent peer-reviewed studies that show biological effects at levels well below U.S. guidelines.”

4. Show Generation Zapped at your local library or other venue.
This film has been a useful tool in getting community members educated about the dangers of wireless technology. Use this script to contact your local library and request a screening. Use this flyer as an example for library.
5. Collect information from interested community members.
Ask them to sign your e-mail list so that you can contact them with future events or action ideas. Here’s an example of an email sign-up sheet.
6. FOIL = Freedom Of Information Law.
All records are accessible to the public including contracts, permits, and applications. FOIL requests can be made at your village/town hall. Just fill out a FOIL application which can be printed, completed, and delivered in person, mailed, faxed or scanned and e-mailed. Here is a link to the Huntington Town Hall FOIL page. If you are not sure where to find your local FOIL application process, call your town hall and ask.
7. Does your town/city/village have a telecom ordinance?
You should be able to find this on-line in your local zoning laws. Reading the laws pertaining to wireless telecommunications facilities in your locality will help you to understand how to move forward. For instance, many local localities have not yet amended their telecom ordinance to deal with the coming of “small cells” and 5G. They may only have laws pertaining to macro-towers (large cell towers) because “small cells” are new. Or you may notice that the ordinance needs to be strengthened to protect the public. You can suggest amendments (changes) to be made. Here is a link to an ordinance that is full of ideas for amendments to protect the public.
